Cities in a post-2012 Climate Policy Framework
This ICLEI analysis report published in 2010, looks at options for climate financing for city development, and includes views from local governments, experts, and business. It looks at both international and local climate financing issues, including the role of LGs, and opportunities for the use by cities of international climate financing mechanisms such as the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and the Adaptation Fund (AF). The report looks at strategic applications for climate financing in cities, and the positioning of LGs in the post-2012 international climate negotiations. The report also summarises issues for cities related to the analysis and reporting of city GHG emissions inventories, action plans and reduction commitments.
