BARCELONA, Spain A new energy model to tackle climate change
Barcelona ranks among the cities of the developed
countries with the lowest per capita emission levels of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions – under 4 tonnes of
CO2 equivalent per inhabitant per year. Yet despite this climate protection remains a priority, with a new energy model being developed to tackle climate change - through actions to reduce energy consumption, increase efficiency and utilise available renewable energy sources. Famous for its
solar thermal ordinance, this remains a leading example and effectively continues in conjunction
with numerous projects being rolled out.
