Green Digital Charter
EUROCITIES has launched the Green Digital Charter in November 2009. The Charter demonstrates the leadership of cities that is needed to create a new focus for promoting the use of digital technologies to support intelligent cities, cities which will demonstrate how they can use ICTs to achieve new and innovative ways of increasing energy efficiency. Cities can pilot new technologies (e.g. intelligent live measurement of energy use, travel assistants, traffic management) at critical scale, but also provide for regulatory frameworks (e.g. local Emission Trading Systems (ETS), green public procurement), or set up new types of Public Private Partnerships with business, industry and NGO's.
