beAgueda – electrical bicycle of Águeda
Águeda is implementing the pilot project beÁgueda - electrical bicycle of Águeda for free and public use of electrical bikes based on the sustainable development principles (Covenant of Mayors and Local Agenda21). The beÁgueda project will be implemented in different phases with the first phase of the project finishing in Dec.2011, so that the system and the way it’s made available to the public can be assessed and re-evaluated, based on survey results, usage records and evaluation by the end-users. Released on June 8th 2011, beÁgueda represents an initial overall investment of €22,000.00 by the Municipal Authority to acquire 10 electric bicycles in this first phase, corresponding 10 parking structures and securing stands, a central station and the monitoring and management system.
