Guidelines for the development of supporting tools for bioenergy initiatives (MAKE-IT-BE project document)
This document is a guideline to using the tools developed in the MAKE-IT-BE project to support the development of bioenergy supply chains at the local level and their inclusion within a Local Energy Action Plan. The project was supported by EACI within the Intelligent Energy for Europe (IEE) Programme. This guideline presents the MAKE-IT-BE methodology with a review of the current regional energy situation including the availability of different potential biomass sources, from all sectors such as forestry biomass, agricultural biomass, livestock and urban wastes. Display of bioenergy demand/supply resources at the local levels is best done by using a GIS mapping tool. The methodology can be applied to various energy contexts and it shows the energy potential offered by local biomass sources and the impacts on the local and regional economy and the employment situation.
