UK Community Energy Strategy: Full Report
This is the UK government’s first ever Community Energy Strategy. It marks an important step in meeting the government's commitment to encourage community-owned renewable energy schemes, set out in the Coalition Agreement.
The ambition is that every community that wants to form an energy group or take forward an energy project should be able to do so, regardless of background or location.
The government intends to back those who choose to pursue community energy, working to dismantle barriers and unlock the potential of the sector.
